Here is a picture of the Santa Catalina mountains covered in snow. Usually when the snow level is as low as it is, the clouds are blocking the view. Then when the clouds disappear, the snow melts. The peak on the right, not covered in snow, is Thimble peak. It is at 5232 feet elevation. My favorite hike is just to the left of Thimble Peak, called Blackette's Ridge. |
The 2 photos above were taken within 10 minutes and were not digitally enhanced. These were taken on the far east side at Agua Caliente Park, a rare natural body of water in Tucson. You are not allowed to swim or fish in it, so I guess you are just supposed to enjoy looking at it an taking pictures of it. Agua Caliente means hot water in Spanish. Since you can't really go near the water, I don't know if it was hot or not, but supposedly it is naturally warm water from a spring. I willl add more pictures here as I take them. |
